Our website provides important information and makes us more accessible. We list the days and hours of the Wellness Centre and all its programs and services; Headstart, Day Care, Home Care, Community Health Representative, Community Health Nurse, Counselling, Medical Transportation, Traditional Travel, Water Quality, Pharmacy, Doctors, Professional Visitors, and Events. We also list contact information for general and emergency programs and services in the Resources and Links sections; Medical Transportation, Fire, Police, Ambulance. Hospitals, Clinics, Doctors, Dentists, Optometrists, Specialists, Professionals, Highway Conditions, Towing, Railroad Police, and the Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation ((RRAFN) - our community). Five special features the website offers are; (1) Real Date & Time (according to your computer) on the Home page, (2) Local Weather (posted in the right table and measured in the nearby town of Dominion City [8 km] 5 miles east of us), (3) Weather at Altona, Morris, Winkler and Winnipeg, Road Conditions on Hwy 1, Hwy 14 and Hwy 75, including (4) the entire 2005 Calendar (posted in the Resources section), and (5) a Virtual Tour of the Wellness Centre (with sound and without sound). The Ginew Wellness Centre was built in 2001 and is located on the Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation, which is located 46 miles south of Winnipeg on Hwy 75, 13 miles north of Emerson (at the Canada / United States border), 2 miles east of Letellier, and 5 miles west of Dominion City. We provide health and wellness programs and services for the Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation, a population of 1,600 (of which 50% are off-reserve). We are the largest employer on the reserve with 60 staff and employees. Our Vision is to improve health and wellness in the Roseau River Anishinabe First Nation community by providing exceptional programs and services. Our Mission at the Ginew Wellness Centre, through innovative ideas and excellence in leadership, is to create and deliver programs and services by working together in co-operation. We're working on developing some great new programs and services, and welcome your ideas and suggestions to meet the changing needs of the community.
